Short description: The lecture will explain as clearly as possible the concepts underlying (almost) all particle accelerators built to date. Along the way, however, you will learn a lot of other exciting things from the most diverse areas of physics, from astrophysics to high-energy physics. If you are interested, you have the opportunity to join a research team and build your own particle detector and operate it in the service of research.
